Who Is Not Phenomenal?

Who is not phenomenal to someone?... The Phenomenal Women interviewed me and that is fun of course, even though I'm not that special and there are other maybe's too, but that's me. No matter what, I put the thing here, for you to read. It came out very hippie and you might think I'm a chicken and a plum when you read it... well, maybe I am...

1. Why do you keep an online diary? What do you get most out of it? I've always loved to write. I used to write in a normal book diary, everything from poetry, to personal thoughts and opinions. I have an introverted personality and I belive I communicate better when I write. It's a way of expressing myself and I've had a lot of experiences that have made me think and worry a lot about things, for me it's been good to put my thoughts on a paper. When I got online I wanted to have website, but when I found Diaryland and read other peoples online diaries, I thought it would be easier to find a reason to update it when I had a diary. My language is Norwegian, but I choose to write in english on my diary, because it's a world language and a good opportunity to get in touch with people outside my country. I feel my english have improved and I think it's been great for me to express my personal thoughts to other people, to know that someone care to read about what someone somewhere else thinks. It makes me feel that people that live far away from eatch other, can find simularities and feel compassion for people in another part of the world, I think that is something very special and it makes the world seem smaller and less hostile.

2. Tell me about your beliefs more in detail. What about New Age interests you? A Free Thinker is for me something individual, you dont base your thoughts on the rules within a religion or political belief. I can say that I agree with certain things in a belief, but I can also take my freedom to say that I disagree. A Free Thinker is an individualistic thinker, that can be inspired, but still learn to think outside a group of people. I've always been searching for a meaning in everything, I found that New Age is the belief I agree with the most. I find it to be a peaceful and creative belief that respects the nature. It's very individual and flexible and I think the spirituality is easier to discover trough New Age than many other beliefs that focus a lot on rules, materialism, status and power. New Age is not a belief that discriminate other belief systems either, but focus on being open to new ideas. I think Socialism is a political belief that that is more about the people and less about materialism and power.

3. In your profile you list things that you like. Pick a few of them and tell us what you like about it. I will pick three things, to make it shorter, otherwise I could sit here all day ;)

Art is probably my biggest passion of all. I have always been attracted to art. I feel I've been an artist all my life. Of course children are bigger artists than adults, because if they are not too controlled, most of the things they do comes naturally. I like art as a free medium to express your personal feelings, I like the fact that there should be no rules in art, as it should be a way to express your personal self in a visual way. I'm very sensetive and I've often been very shy, art doesn't tell you how to be and what to do, it's tells you that it's important to listen to your personal feelings and sometimes shut everything else out. To discover other peoples art or to create your own can be a new and interesting way to get in touch with the things that people often hide.

I admire Ghandi for the things he did. There are a lot of people I can agree with, but there are less of these that did things I can really admire. I think we could learn a lot from his anti violent message, it would be a new way to try to solve violent situasions. He once said something like this: 'The motive does not make the weapon holy, because you don't live in the future, you live now, so your weapon is your motive'. I think this is something very important to think about, because it tells us that the results of war will always be the same, as long as we always use the same weapons.

I think nature is very important, because it changes less than people. Woods stay the same, as people change themselves and usually create more negative things than posetive. In the modern society people remove themselves from nature more and more and they become more artificial as time goes by. To protect the nature is to protect what is natural in ourselves. If we would stress less and put some time off, listen to the wind in the trees and notice the natural beauty around us, maybe it could give us something of meaning, that is more difficult to find in the grey every day life.

4. What was the inspiration behind your diary/website design? Personally I picked up the name Ravenheart for my diary and website, because It represent certain feelings I have. A bird that is dark and in symbolism represents dark subjects, but underneath the darkness beats a red heart. It's supposed to be poetic, gloomy and melancholic, but not really dark in the gothic way. My biggest inspiration is the old fairytales with a lot of symbols in them, like ravens, witches and hearts that were cut out for sacrifice and a symbol of passion. Growing up I liked to read fierytales rather than Disney cartoons. I was extremely interested in their symbolic expressions. Later on I've grown to have a deep passion for expressionism as an art form, because of that. I also have a passion for colors and seeing them as something that reflect your personal mood and situation. I wanted my writing and art work to reflect these things, because they inspired me to do something creative in the first place.

5. What is a secret dream you have that you seldom share with others? My secret dream is that I've always wanted to be a house wife. One that was a good cook and who lived a simple, but yet romantic life. I dont think a lot of people that know me can see me in that situation, because I guess they feel I'm very complicated, opinionated and a person that need to disagree with everything. Underneath it all I'm really not like that, I'm very dependent and I think it's something I dont like to express a lot, because I like to be liked for who I am and not feel helpless or small because of my romantic sensitivity.

6. What makes you phenomenal? I think everyone have some phenomenal sides in them, because I belive everyone can find uniqueness in themselves if they are open enough to dare to be themselves. The most important thing I feel I've learned in life is to try to appreciate the small things more and not worry or stress to much. People often run trough things too fast and they often seem to forget to enjoy the things they run trough. I've always worried a lot and I'm not perfect, but when I went really sick because of pneumonia one time, I felt that something changed in me and I've often felt a lot more content than I ever used to do, after that experience. I dont know if it makes me phenomenal, but I know that I've managed to more easily see the phenomenal sides in other people after this.
